About the project

In December of 2014, Mars Hill Church closed it doors. At this point, the organization wanted to revamp their site. They wanted the new site to be a place of thanksgiving for all the good things the organization contributed to, while also mourning the closure of the institution. Additionally, it became a directory of the 12 locations that survived the closing and decided to plant new independent churches.

Process

As usual for a project like this, the process included exploring different ways to interact with the content while remaining to be a responsive site.

Visually I wanted the site to flow like the user was navigating through time. For that reason I approached the site as if it was a timeline portal.
